The Journal of Pedagogical Sociology and Psychology (JPSP) is committed to fostering the free exchange of academic knowledge. As an open-access journal, JPSP ensures that all published content is freely available to researchers, educators, policymakers, and the public worldwide without subscription or paywall restrictions.
1. Open Access Principles
JPSP adheres to the principles of open-access publishing to maximize the accessibility, visibility, and impact of scholarly work. All articles are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which allows:
- Free access to all published content.
- Unrestricted downloading, sharing, and redistribution of articles.
- Reuse, adaptation, and reproduction of materials for lawful purposes, as long as appropriate credit is given to the authors and the journal.
2. Funding and Costs
JPSP does not charge any fees at the time of manuscript submission, during the peer review process, or for manuscripts that are rejected. An Article Processing Charge (APC) applies only to manuscripts that have been formally accepted for publication.
Authors may be responsible for optional pre-submission costs, such as professional language editing or manuscript preparation services, where necessary. These costs are separate from the APC and do not influence editorial or peer review decisions.
The APC supports the journal’s open-access publishing model and helps ensure that accepted articles are made freely and permanently available online.
3. Digital Preservation and Archiving
J-PSP is committed to the long-term preservation and continued accessibility of its published scholarly content.
J-PSP has established an external digital preservation arrangement with the Internet Archive. The journal is progressively depositing its published full-text articles and associated scholarly content in the Internet Archive, beginning with current content and extending retrospectively to previously published volumes and issues.
Newly published content will be deposited on an ongoing basis as part of the journal's regular publishing workflow. The retrospective archive will also be expanded progressively to ensure that earlier published content is included in the preservation programme.
The Internet Archive serves as an external preservation repository intended to support continued access to the journal's scholarly record in the event that the journal's primary website or publishing platform becomes unavailable.
In addition to external preservation, J-PSP maintains regular operational backups of its website, published article files, and associated metadata. These operational backups complement the journal's external digital preservation arrangements and provide additional protection against accidental data loss or service disruption.
All published articles are assigned persistent Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs), supporting persistent identification and linking to the version of record.
Authors are also permitted to deposit the published version of their articles in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal websites, and other repositories of their choice without embargo, in accordance with the journal's Open Access, Copyright, and Licensing policies.
Through these measures, J-PSP aims to ensure that its published scholarly content remains discoverable and accessible over the long term, including in the event that the journal ceases publication or its primary publishing platform is no longer available.
4. Compliance with Open Access Mandates
The journal aligns with the open-access mandates of international funding agencies and institutions. J-PSP’s immediate open-access publishing model and use of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License are designed to support compliance with many institutional and funder open-access requirements. Authors remain responsible for confirming and meeting any additional requirements imposed by their institution, funder, or research grant.
5. Accessibility Standards
J-PSP is committed to improving the accessibility and usability of its website and published scholarly content for all users, including individuals with different accessibility needs. The journal seeks to follow recognized good practices in web accessibility and digital publishing wherever technically feasible.
J-PSP periodically reviews its website and publishing processes to improve navigation, readability, compatibility, and access to scholarly content. Users who experience accessibility-related difficulties are encouraged to contact the editorial office so that reasonable efforts can be made to address identified barriers.
6. Self-Archiving and Repository
Authors are permitted to deposit all versions of their manuscript in an institutional repository, subject repository, personal website, or other repository of their choice without embargo.
This includes:
- Submitted Version (Preprint): Authors may deposit the version of the manuscript submitted to the journal at any time.
- Accepted Version (Author Accepted Manuscript): Authors may deposit the peer-reviewed manuscript accepted for publication immediately upon acceptance.
- Published Version (Version of Record): Authors may deposit and share the final published version of the article immediately upon publication.
No embargo period applies to any version.
Articles published in the Journal of Pedagogical Sociology and Psychology are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License. Authors retain copyright in their work and may share, distribute, and reuse their articles in accordance with the terms of this license, provided that appropriate attribution and a link to the published version of record are provided.
