Digital Preservation and Archiving Policy

The Journal of Pedagogical Sociology and Psychology (J-PSP) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, integrity, discoverability, and continued accessibility of its published scholarly content.

1. External Digital Preservation

J-PSP deposits its published full-text articles and associated scholarly content in the Internet Archive as part of its external digital preservation arrangements.

Current and retrospective journal content is deposited progressively, and newly published content is incorporated into the journal’s regular preservation workflow. This process is intended to support the long-term preservation and continued public accessibility of the journal’s scholarly record.

Published content preserved through the Internet Archive can be accessed through the J-PSP Internet Archive.

The Internet Archive provides an external preservation layer independent of J-PSP’s primary website and publishing platform. This arrangement is intended to support continued access to published scholarly content in the event of technical failure, platform migration, discontinuation of the journal website, or cessation of publication.

2. Operational Backups

In addition to external digital preservation, J-PSP maintains operational copies and regular backups of its website, published article files, and associated metadata through its publishing infrastructure.

These operational backups support routine recovery, service continuity, and restoration in the event of accidental data loss or technical disruption. They complement, but do not replace, the journal’s independent external digital preservation arrangements.

3. Persistent Identification

Published articles are assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to support persistent identification, citation, discovery, and linking to the Version of Record.

DOIs support persistent identification and linking but do not replace independent long-term digital preservation. J-PSP therefore maintains its external preservation arrangements separately from its DOI infrastructure.

4. Continuity of the Scholarly Record

If J-PSP ceases publication or its primary website or publishing platform becomes unavailable, content preserved through the journal’s external archiving arrangements is intended to remain publicly accessible through the relevant preservation service.

Corrections, retractions, Expressions of Concern, and other post-publication notices form part of the scholarly record and are preserved where applicable together with the associated published content.

5. Author Self-Archiving

Authors may deposit the Submitted Version (Preprint), Author Accepted Manuscript, and published Version of Record in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal academic websites, or other appropriate repositories without embargo, in accordance with J-PSP’s Open Access Policy.

Where the Version of Record is deposited or shared, authors should provide the complete bibliographic citation and DOI or permanent link to the article published by J-PSP.

6. Review of Preservation Arrangements

J-PSP periodically reviews its digital preservation arrangements and may adopt additional recognized preservation services where appropriate to strengthen the long-term accessibility and integrity of its scholarly record.
