ABSTRACT
Schools can be the best places for students to get the support they need after experiencing trauma, but there don't seem to be enough studies on how secondary schools handle trauma. This study investigates the experiences of school counselors providing trauma-informed care (TIC), illuminating obstacles and methods for guaranteeing successful trauma care. A qualitative methodology was chosen based on a semi-structured interview guide. The themes and patterns from the data collection were presented through a thematic analysis of the collected data. The study produced three themes to answer the research questions. According to the findings, 50% of the participants knew about the TIC approach. A few counselors exhibited techniques for assisting students who have experienced trauma, like questioning and probing the student to learn more about their life circumstances. Additional assistance, such as workshops, training, and programs pertaining to trauma-related care, was also mentioned. The research findings yielded significant insights for educational ministries and administrators regarding the necessity of psychological services within the school, ultimately enhancing the quality of support for students.
